{If you will not be needing me, I would like to return to
Engineering as soon as possible.} said Commander Shevab.
Torgath studied the Horta for a moment biting his tongue. He could
not help but wonder if the Chief Engineer did not recall the request
to stay in Security until after Commander K'Tael returned. "If you
could stay here until after Commander K'Tael can speak with you, we
would greatly appreciate it."
{Very well, but if the Commander is not here soon, I must take
my leave.} said Shevab.
Geb, who had just finished his conversation with K'Ton, turned
to Torgath and Shevab. "It seems that you were right about your
visitor not being from your department, but he is a member of
Starfleet. He works in the port of San Francisco as a technician. His
name is Adam Leaver."
The tension surrounding the area could be cut with a knife and
the cause was probably a mystery to Geb, but Torgath was going to put
his foot down. "Commander, I am not sure you understand the situation.
You will remain here until Commander K'Tael arrives so he can talk to
you. Period." Torgath might be tiny and reflect the jolly mein of
a leprechaun, but his eyes were full of fire. He wanted to say
something about the Horta staying in his seat, but that was not exactly
possible.
That was not the reaction that Geb had expected. He would have
thought that they would have been excited, but he could tell that
something had gone down while he was speaking with Personnel.
{I have told you what you have asked, and given you recorded evidence,
but I will wait only a short time. If it is that important he talk with
me, then he should be here shortly or he can find me in Engineering.}
replied the Commander Engineer.
Torgath studied the Horta for a moment. He could not believe that he
was hearing this. "Let's put it this way, Commander. You can stay here
voluntarily until you are released or we can arrange a short stay for
you in the Brig until he returns. Since he is in a meeting with the
Admiralty about issues related to this, I am sure that you can
understand why you are waiting for him to come here. As you can
imagine, they decided when he can be released from the meeting rather
than you."
Geb decided to jump into the conversation before tempers became too
short. If push came to shove, Torgath could not win a fight against
someone so much bigger, particularly since Shevab was a silicon based
lifeform. He probably packed quite a punch. "We could send out a
notice to Commander K'Tael to come to Security as soon as he is out of
his meeting."
