It was clear that Abrams was not just speaking of what actually had been reported- ie the Klingon device. Perhaps to cover his backside.... He was trying to answer the questions posed to him as honestly as he could, but it was clear that he was given some instruction prior to their arrival. He was definately not the bad guy.

Jackson had been listening as Abrams spoke about the complaints. "Commander, how is your relationship with Admiral Van Der Loo?"

"My title is deputy chief of operations. My responsibilities include logistics and inter-governmental affairs. But I'm not sure that is what you
are asking for..."

"Did anyone speak to you about how you should answer certain questions from us or about this topic?"

"In a manner of speaking..."

Jared's eyebrow rose in response. "Commander, as I told you, we are investigating an incident that happened to Captain Boulay here. Those in his shoes could very easily be killed. I believe that Admrial Van Der Loo ordered you to help us in whatever we need. We need full answers to our questions."

Joanna could sense the uncomfortable position that the other officer had been put in. He was exuding the stress quite strongly. To a degree, she felt bad for him.

{OOC: Valtris??? I'm assuming you meant Joanna...}

(OOC: Ooops. That is what I get for checking y email too quickly!)

"Commnader, what could you tell us about Captain Boulay's time aboard this station?"

"I'm afraid not much really. As I said previously, Commander, I am in charge of logistics and intra-governmental affairs. My duties did not bring me in contact with the Captain.

Admiral, to your questions, I am fully aware of what my orders are from Admiral Van Der Loo, and...", he answered but was cut off by the sound of the door opening. It was another member of Van Der Loo's staff with a message for Abrams.

"Please excuse me a moment.", Abrams said getting and taking a few paces away.

Joanna got the impression from Abrams that he was being honest, and that he was in God's little acre. West of the rock and east of the hard place.

While the two staff officers spoke, the team could see Abrams writing something down on his PADD. A moment or two later he returned to the team.

"I'm sorry Admiral, but something has come up that requires a moment or two more of my time. Here is the Admiral's schedule if you would care to make time for one of his free times.", he said handing over the PADD. While sounding a tad dismissive, he left little room for argument as he quickly turned and left.

Joanna sensed that there was more to Abrams disappearance than he was saying. She looked to Jackson to see if he had any other info on it.

Upon examing the PADD, Jared found more than he was expecting.... A note.
