Adam looked to his lawyer, who gave him permission to speak, before looking
around the room  nervously.  If he spoke now, he was changing things in a
way that he might  never get a chance to go back.  "It was an assignment
given to my cell.  Our contact with the Brotherhood hierarchy brought it to
us.   I was given the assignment because it seemed like a natural for it
because of my background in Engineering.  I already had the uniform and
would be able to fit in fairly easily with fellow officers."

Aravis decided it was time to jump in.  "Who specifically brought the
assignment to your cell, and who briefed you on the specifics of the
assignment?"

The prisoner thought things through for a moment.  It seemed like so long ago now even if it was only a couple of days.  So much had happened in that time frame.  "I did not know his name.  He was on older guy and seemed to have a good idea of what needed to get done.  He gave us the assignment.  It was my cell leader who helped formulate the plan.  His name was Matt ... Matt Swain."

"Was the assignment always to attack Commander Shevab specifically?"  Aravis
was curious as to whether they were targeting specific personnel or just any
high ranking officers who were not human.

Adam couldn't help but wonder if this woman knew more than she was saying.  He shook his head and those speaking with him probably couldn't tell whether or not it was a denial or anger at her gall.  "We were just given an assignment to attack one of the command staff of the station and make sure that he or she was not human.  Our options were limited.  There are Commanders K'Tael and Shevab.  Counselor Kirk is also not completely human, but we wanted the statement to be clear.  Dr. D'amondra was considered to be not an option."
