This entire thread started with helping a user who was trying to figure out what was going on and how to deal with it. If your livelihood depends on exchanging messages with customers who use Outlook 2003, discerning such messages from other forged header variants is perfectly reasonable. And I may have to "cut Outlook 2003 a break" to do so.
If I'm using MS Outlook 2003 without Exchange server -- for WHATEVER reason -- figuring out how to fix this problem is also prudent. I may also have to ask my server admin to "cut Outlook 2003 a break" by inserting the required headers to ensure compliance.
(FWIW: The original poster has contacted me off-list, and has made the changes on the server to reduce his spam-footprint and be RFC-compliant.)
