We're going to be moving to Fedora which is basically Redhat 10. As for updates to RedHat 9 if you're comfortable with it you can install yum and go with the Fedora Legacy Project (http://www.fedoralegacy.org) We're using it for some of our 7.3 - 9.0 RedHat systems. They will also be doing security releases for older versions of Fedora. They're saying about 1.5 years of updates for the current releases of RedHat.

RedHat has announced that it will no longer be providing (free) errata support for RH9 ( http://news.osdir.com/article323.html ) Fedora seems a little too bleeding edge for my tastes... I was thinking about Debian... My questions to the list are these: 1.) What would you suggest migrating to? 2.) What caveats should I know about with Debian? I know there were quite a few with RH, I.E. UTF-8 screwing everything and it's brother up with perl, etc, etc... 3.) Maybe that you'd stay with RH9. Why? As always, any insight that anybody could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, J.C.
