Hi This is my first post here. I am looking for a sort of Dummies guide to setting up a mail server (procmail, sendmail, postfix etc) which will sit in my DMZ with a public IP (the MX record will point here) I would then like it to scan the mails for Spam and then forward the successful mails to a Microsft exchange server sitting inside the network.
I will make a dedicated Box available to put this on, whether its a Sun Sparc box running Solaris or an i386 box running Freebsd or linux, but unfortunately I have no idea where to start, what mail server to use, what OS to use, the complexity of the installation/configuration or whether this is possible at all (im sure it must be), Before someone posts back with an abrupt RTFM (and quite rightly so), I have genuinly looked around, and the configuration options are overwhelming. I have been unable to find a guide that will help me set up this box with a simple mail server with forwarding and a AS solution.
