That said, the behavior you're reporting makes me wonder if your
internal/local mail is being processed the same way as your
inbound external mail.

Can you get other SA rules to trigger when you locally re-send other
types of spammy messages, for example one already tagged by other
rules?

This is an excellent point... I know since I'm running vpopmail with roaming users enabled that my IP gets classified as a relayclient in qmail, so Spamassassin is not run against it any messages I send. In order to test my installation, I have to use my yahoo account :-)
