I like the current logo, but it's not very sharp, if we could do something about the jaggies it would be more presentable.

Here is something quick that my co-worker came up with. Of course this

"SpamAssassin should get a new logo"

I know SA is one of the best AS products available, and that helps a lot when
you try to get your company to adopt is as a solution.

But technical superiority is unfortunately not the only thing that company
managers look for when selecting a solution.
Things such as support, having someone to call when things don“t work, price
and the *feel* of the procuct also play a big role.

You may think that in the *price* category, no commercial product could
possibly beat the price of SpamAssassin, but you would be wrong. I have a
Excel printout that we got from a Anti-Spam company which compares
SpamAssassin to their product and shows that SpamAssassin costs around 27,000
(twenty seven thousand Euros) for the first year in production.

It doesn“t matter if those calculations are right or not, company managers
base their decisions on things like this.

And in the *product feel* category, SpamAssassin realy could do better. It“s
embarrassing to say the least that the logo of the product you are trying to
sell as a solution looks like something right out of Teenage Mutant Ninja
Turtles.

IMO, the logo should be completely redesigned to be simpler and more
"symbolic". But unfortunately my artistic skills are not up to the task.

Hi, I don't know how to put this without offending someone....but, I've always found the existing logos...well "open sourcey", not very 'professional' looking. I think it needs to be totally redrawn, make it 'shinier'. For example, the clamav logos (www.clamav.net) look really good (mind you, I think some graphic designer has produced them).

just my 1.5 cents...

Anon...err Scott
