Monte, Thanks for the config settings.
That is what I had but I thought I was doing something wrong as it keeps coming back with "sending of username did not succeed. Mail server Localhost responded: USER" after it asks for the password and I enter it. I'm beginning to suspect that since my mail server requires both the user name and domain name as the fully qualified user name in the form <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, SpamBayes is truncating it at the @ and the server isn't getting the full user name and so can't validate the user. Solutions? Thanks, Allen Monte wrote: > Allen wrote: >> I've installed SpamBayes on about a dozen Outlook setups, but I've never >> succeeded in getting it to work with Thunderbird, which is what I use. >> >> I get the point of setting the port to get mail from via localhost, but >> I can't quite see how to send the user name and password to the POP3 >> server through (or is it with?)
