I don't think anyone could come up with more than an educated guess, because no sample size would come close to representing the whole Internet. Nonetheless, here are a few possible sources. * The FTC has asked for people to forward their spam, but I don't know whether they'd release any new numbers on request. * SpamCop has some "live" statistics at <http://spamcop.net/spamstats.shtml> * Other filtering companies (Brightmail, Postini) may be willing to provide figures. I know Brightmail's done so in the past. * We have links to a few spam statistics sites at <http://www.spamcon.org/directories/email-statistics.shtml>. I hope that helps! Qualified journalists (such as yourself :) ) can write to me privately for contact info for the above parties. -- Tom Geller * [EMAIL PROTECTED] * +1-415-552-2557 Media Liaison/Secretary, SpamCon Foundation <http://www.spamcon.org> Protecting email as a medium of communications and commerce A California non-profit organization Become a member: <http://www.spamcon.org/membership> _______________________________________________ spamcon-general mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.spamcon.org/mailman/listinfo/spamcon-general#subscribers Subscribe, unsubscribe, etc: Use the URL above or send "help" in body of message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Contact administrator: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
