I've just acquired a Google G1 phone and Spanning Sync seems to be the ideal way to get my info onto it. As it's a Google product, it's very nicely integrated with all the Google services, and Spanning Sync bridges the gap between Google and my MacBook Pro apps. (I'm also really pleased that I get 15 days for free to find out whether it all works before parting with cash -- cheers!)
However, I've just realised that when I create an appointment in Apple iCal and set a reminder/alarm, the appointment appears in Google Calendar *without* the reminder, and this is then copied over to my G1 phone. That's not very useful, as I need the phone to buzz to remind me where I'm supposed to be! Hmm... I've just tried to see what happens if I create the appointment + alarm in Google Calendar, and it appears on the phone OK... but *doesn't appear at all* in iCal, even after choosing "Sync Now" from the SS menu.
