Luckily, I took a backup before the upgrade.  To fix the problem, I re-
imported Address Book data from my backup and then re-wrote all of my
data on Google.  The lame part about that is that my chat contact list
got wiped out as a result.  Better than nothing, I guess.

It definitely looks to me like Spanning Sync 3.0 was released a bit
prematurely...
