I want to (a) make my Google Contacts look like my Address Book
Contacts, and (b) allow bidirectional synching. I can't do it.

First try: clean up contacts on my Mac. Set up Spanning Sync for
bidirectional synching. Click on Replace Data on Google, then Sync. As
it syncs, contacts are deleted from my Address Book (sometimes it
asks, sometimes it just deletes them). I tried this 3 times, same
results.

Second try: replace my contacts in Address Book from a backup (glad I
made a backup). Set up Spanning Sync for one-directional synching
(Sync to Google). Replace Data on Google, then Sync. After the Sync, I
have 2,014 contacts in Address Book, 1,784 in My Contacts on Google,
and 2,139 "All Contacts" in Google.

Thoughts?
