David,

I have a previous version of Apache installed (2.0.63) It is not
recognized by the TPP installer. The link noted in the TPP installer
for Apache configuration doesn't work (http://www.insilicos.com/
tpp_apache_config.html). If you use the IPP apache config with the
appropriate IPP/TPP subsitutions, the Apache server will not restart
with this error

Apache Error Log

[Tue Sep 15 13:19:28 2009] [notice] Child 168: Child process is

This leads to the error noted at the beginning of the discussion.

--13:21:45--  http://localhost/tpp-bin/check_env.pl
  (try:19) => `test.txt'
Connecting to localhost[127.0.0.1]:80... failed: Bad file descriptor.
Retrying.

--13:21:46--  http://localhost/tpp-bin/check_env.pl
  (try:20) => `test.txt'
Connecting to localhost[127.0.0.1]:80... failed: Bad file descriptor.
Giving up.

could not get file from http://localhost/tpp-bin - is webserver
running and perl
 installed?
if web server is running and perl is installed try a reboot
Press any key to continue . . .

If you remove the alias text, the apache server starts normally.

What is the proper text needed to modify the httpd.conf file?

Mike
