Natalie, Thanks for the redirection. I am sure that if I load Xcalibur core programs, and provided the correct files from BioWorks in directories that ReAdW expects to find them, that it would work perfectly, not requiring a full installation (doesn't this seem to be a reasonable assumption?). I could always look for the XDK program/file and put that file in a directory that has the expected path, couldn't I? I just don't know exactly which files would be needed. Mascot Daemon only needs those I mentioned, and it just needs a path to find them.
I do have access to all of the files generated in the complete installation of Bioworks on two legitimate licensed workstations, and Thermo is really OK with us moving them selectively to any workstation in the lab, such as is needed to allow Mascot Daemon to function on any workstation. Does anyone know ALL of the necessary files from Xcal/ Sequest to allow TPP programs to function (without requiring a full BioWorks installation)? It is not that I can't install Bioworks yet again, but is it really the only way? If I really have to do a complete Bioworks installation, I would prefer to upgrade to Proteome Discoverer, which has newer tools needed for newer instrumentation and methods (one can only hope for a new mass spectrometer!). Will the TPP work with a standard PD installation (which includes Sequest)?
