Hi,

The IPI closure announcement says that it "will be" discontinued soon after
Uniprot starts providing the species specific databases.

As of now, it is NOT closed AFAIK. The last release was "Human, 3.78,
released on Mon, 29 Nov 2010". This is just an example. You get all other
species too.
