Hi, I'm using mzWiff on a computer with Japanese Windows, with path names containing Japanese. The mzXML output is in ISO-8859-1, but since the Japanese characters can't be encoded, they are garbled (<byte>):
<parentFile fileName="file://PC1/C/Documents and Settings/user/<203>f<203>X<203>N<203>g<203>b<203>v/Data/<212><356><224><325>/file.wiff" This makes the files unreadable by (some) other XML tools unless the bad bytes are edited out. Proposed solution: switch XML encoding to UTF-8. And one more request: When compressing the mzXML file the run marker comes right before the .gz extension: .mzXML-s1.gz I would appreciate if it is placed before the .mzXML instead: -s1.mzXML.gz Sorry if these are known bugs.
