Also try stopping the services : Web Publishing Service, IIS, CF and any
FTP/SMTP/NNTP that may be running. Wait for a few minutes.
THEN
turn them back on in this order -
WebPublishing Service (this may require IIS - I can't remember)
IIS
any other IIS type service
and then CF
I have found that for some reason, switching on CF last makes a difference.

p.s what are your calls like to 'normal' html pages? slow? if not you have
a safe bet that something has gone a wry with one of the above services.
Sometimes a call to one of these pages frees up the lag.
