The only book in town on Spectra is, of course, "The Allaire Spectra
E-Business Construction Kit"
by Ben Forta, et al. (As one of the et al, I can recommend the book for what
you say you need
to know).
To get the HTML Editor, you need to use the cfa_htmlEditor tag inside a form
on a page.
If you want a more complete example, look at the PLP steps for the i-build
sample
application because it uses HTML editor in the Teaser and Body parts of
building an
i-Build content object.
