Hi Toby,
In a similar situation to yours (copying app to a different server) I
got SQL errors which fubar'd the db and led to XML parsing errors. Setting
MAXOBJECTS in cfa_contentObjectGetMultiple (in tier0/objectstore) to 500
(and restoring db) fixed it for me.
