Spectra and CF on Solaris can run on iPlanet/Netscape or on Apache.

What you might have heard is that you need an LDAP server for Spectra on
Solaris, for Advanced Security. This is correct, at least during the
installation process, as far as I can tell. The only Allaire-supported LDAP
server is the iPlanet/Netscape 4.11 LDAP server.

There's a Java WDDX class in the WDDX SDK, although I haven't used it. Not
having used it, I can't tell you how it maps data, but it should be a pretty
simple thing.
