I'm not trying to continue rumors just asking the community if anyone has
heard anything to confirm or deny what I heard from a "downsized" Account
Manager. It seems strange to me a merged company Macromedia/Allaire would
have 2 commerce and content management systems (Spectra 1.5 and Project
Whirlwind) and fund another content management company (Macromedia Ventures
- Context Media). Hence I am just looking for some facts and some direction
from the company before I spend time and money traveling down the lines of
what could be a dead product.

Please let me know if anyone has heard anything beyond what I have.

Chairman's Letter to Shareholders:

" In October 1999, Macromedia announced its intent to provide a solution to
manage Web content-an arduous task as sites continue to evolve to meet the
needs of e-commerce and e-business. And that's where Project Whirlwind
enters the picture. Project Whirlwind is a set of initiatives for the future
targeted at developing a site production platform for enabling content
contribution and management, production management, verification and
deployment. Based on an open architecture, Project Whirlwind is being
designed to work with existing enterprise infrastructures, handle
next-generation Web requirements, and integrate seamlessly with leading
front-end Macromedia Web authoring solutions."
