I don't think you have any reason to worry about the future. To expand the
conversation a bit, I think this is an awesome merger. I mean, I'm no design
guy, but I know that Macromedia's tools freaking rock. I know our tools
(server based) rock. As I said before, there are going to be changes, but
from what I can see, they are all going to be great for everybody.
Yes, I'm biased.
Yes, I'm not a manager and certainly don't know all the plans.
Yes, I could be wrong.
But I have a LOT of faith in what we are doing. That's why I came to
Allaire, and I feel the same confidence in Macromedia. I think the future is
going to be great.
Again, I'm biased, but most of you that know me also know that I felt this
way before coming to Allaire, so, this isn't just covering my butt here.
I've taken my company to task when I felt they made mistakes (I had certain
issues with Studio 4.5) so I don't think I always just spout the 'company
line.' At the same time, I've been a fanatical user of our products for
years now, and I'm not worried in the least. Sure, change is scary, but it's
going to work out for the best.
