I don't disagree with your argument, there are shortcomings in every area that you 
mention and we have pointed this out to the development team as I am sure you have. I 
think they are seriously trying to improve all of these areas in the Dharma release.

Surely you are joking. A core spectra functionality should never take 3
seconds. This is ridiculous. Spectra is supposed to be fast, scalable,
with a myriad of ready-to-use components. It appears to me that in fact
most components are so buggy or slow that they are unusable (SLM,
workflows, userprofiles, siteminder security, webtop, etc)

I do like the overall coapi idea but I'm getting just a little bit annoyed
by how many times a spectra feature that looks neat at first glance just
falls apart when it is actually used.
