Hi Michiel,

Initially I thought you were just whinging until I read the agreement
myself. I have a problem with it too.

On the one hand, it requires that we "have all necessary legal rights to
grant Macromedia the assignment below in paragraph
(c), of Your Submission". However, it "licenses Your Submission back to you
solely for personal or internal use and not for any other reason,
specifically, but not limited to, the right to sell or give to any other
party." (What does "internal use" mean? Internal to Macromedia? Internal to
my company? Internal to Spectra? Internal to my person??)

Anyway, I think it kind of sucks. *sharing* code with Macromedia doesn't
sound too bad to me, but being told that I have to hand over rights to them,
that I'm not allowed to sell or even give it to other party people seems a
little screwy to me. It doesn't even seem to have provisions for me to pass
rights to obvious parties such as customers, my employer or a business I
might be involved in. Is "Community Source" aimed at professionals or just
people with nothing better to do with their time? :~(

Is there something I'm missing here?

The site itself looks fantastic and I can't wait to start using it. I notice
a lack of the familiar UUIDs in its URLs; is it running in Spectra?

Cheers,

Mark

Well for starters I would not want to just give away my code to allaire,
which is what the community source agreement text says if I understand
correctly. I will very much doubt if I ever will submit any code under
such absurd conditions.
