The goal should be to write your code at business logic
level and let the people that write the business logic (MM) worry about the
data level. Code that relies heavily on retrieving content through queries
to the database directly is asking for trouble. Granted, it's unavoidable in
some situations, but a more mature API should resolve that.
The point is: it's not. At least, not yet.
