Raymond,

I'm sorry I don't really understand your question. It is CFAS/ Spectra on
the box that is being "hit" by the http gets that is failing fastest. The NT
box doing the gets and saving the (processed) html is fine.

However the other box on the cluster that the editors actually work on also
suffers from the memory issue, just a lot less often as the load is a great
deal less. These boxes are "identical" and the content perfectly
synchronised as they are on the same NFS mount. We synchronise the in-memory
structures as best we can also, though frequent refreshes of the site model
also speed up the decline of cfserver.

When we switch the flattening to target the editorial server and have the
editors work on what was previously the flattening server, the new
flattening server fails as quick as the previous (if you follow me). The NT
box actually hitting the solaris boxes is fine at all times through out
this.

Thanks for your time on this issue Raymond.

It is an important distinction - is the 'dynamic' site failing to respond to
your HTTP calls or is the 'flatten' site not running well with the numerous
HTTP calls being made?

Ie, is it the chicen or the egg that is failing?
