Here are some docs that helped me. Hope they do the same for you.

The DB is SQL 7. I haven't needed to use smconsole in the past, so therefore
am not familiar with it. I did find some documentation, but found it either
incomplete or otherwise confusing.

I believe you are correct. We had the added pleasure of upgrading
both CF
and Spectra. Are you able to use the smconsole to connect to
userdirectory
and query it that way? If you are using Oracle, there was a bug in
the way
that you specified the userdirectory ODBC connection in Advanced
Security.
I believe it had something to do with the case of the word
userdirectory.

Actually, the client is still using CF 4.5, and the userdirectory
was not
converted (I was under the impression that this DB does not change
from
        1.0.1 - 1.5.1).

        Thanks,

If your userdirectory db has not been converted, but your
smpolicy
        db has
been upgraded for CF 5, you will need to go into Advanced
Security
        admin,
and change the SQL queries into userdirectory. Either that,
or you
        can
upgrade userdirectory to use the new format. Good Luck!

                All,

We are having what I believe to be problems with siteminder.

We have upgraded a client from 1.0.1 to 1.5.1 recently, and
now we
        cannot
log in to the webtop or the admin section of our app. The
login for
        the
admin area uses cfa_secure, which then calls
cfa_authenticate, which
        in turn
calls cfauthenticate. I have confirmed that cfauthenticate
fails,
        although
the odbc to the userdirectory is working properly and the DB
can be
        queried
                successfully.

I have tried to completely remove the odbc and recreate, and
did the
        same
with the security context, with no results.

                Any ideas?

                Thanks,

                Seth Morris
