Ernie, Can you query the userdirectory or smpolicy dbs at all from the servers that will not connect using siteminder? Using any odbc query tool try a 'select * from users' against userdirectory. Similarly try 'select * from smuserdirectory4' against your smpolicy DSN. Do they work? If not what is the failure? I would suspect this is a datasource configuration issue.
If your direct queries work and siteminder continues to fail then logging should show something. If the direct queries fail, what is the failure? Now here is my problem I have two other boxes configured the same way however, these boxes will not talk to the same userdirectory and smpolicy tables.
