Hi Christian, Calvin, list, I know this works - mostly - for Spectrum <= 8.1. Spectrum 9.0 recommends JRE 1.6 (@CA: why does it do so? The TomcatJDK is still 1.5, but that's another question). Officially supported is 1.6.0_07 exclusively.
With e.g. 1.6.0_12 I'm not able to use locator search "Device by IP/IP range/MAC/HostFinder" (in SS 9.0). But 1.6.0_07 works well. CA can't check everytime a new java version appears if this work in all situations so I think we have to wait for future Spectrum versions to function with newer Java versions (same as CiscoWorks currently does not support Java 1.6). In SS 8.1 I've issues with JRE1.6 (e.g. not displaying contents of OID-/ReadAccess-columns in MibTools. So, at least, it's up to evry individual user to try not officially supported Java versions. At the end all Users have the chance to install different Java versions in parallel to work with different apps. The officially supported JRE can always be downloaded from the local OneClickServer website.
