Do you want the Notes field only be set when you select the device (in explorer, locator, where-ever)? Is the attribute the same attribute as the Notes field shown out-of-the-box? If you want simply all pingables to have notes set to "I'm a pingable" then select one of the pingables, open attribute editor, edit notes attribute and mark "set as default" - from now on all (new) pingables get the notes field set as desired. Auto-set attributes can also be done with a policy in Policy Manager... ...but if I did not understand right try to enlighten me.
