Does your SpectroServer have more than one NIC?

 

NCM’s SNMP messages will instruct the target device to dump configuration over 
TFTP to the SpectroServer’s primary IP address, 

but if the communication between the SpectroServer and the device occurs over a 
secondary NIC with a different IP address, 

NCM will not function properly unless the device can get the TFTP response to 
the primary IP via another route.

 

Use wireshark or tcpdump on the SpectroServer to check what’s being sent out, 

and also see if there is ANY response coming back from the device.

 

Also, some devices (ASA, PIX, etc) will not use TFTP at all. You need to use 
SSH/telnet scripts.

Hi, 

we are getting the same problem as well but ONLY on VPN routers, any device on 
a MPLS network is fine. 

We tried the the IP TFTP Source command to push it through different interfaces 
and it never worked and never hit our firewall. We have been investigating this 
issue for 6 months now so if anyone could enlighten us please update.

If you are trying on Cisco Devices, try adding "ip tftp source-interface 
<interface>".

One of my device is showing “device reported no config error” while capturing 
Host Configuration in spectrum. 

I have configure everything properly but still getting same error. 

  

My rest devices are working fine & NCM is happening properly.
