i recomend to do a application only for this, to run the scripts. And another application for the "normal" notifier alarms.

Hi,
SANM is like a pre-filter for AlarmNotifier. And AlarmNotifier can run
a script (SetScript) when an alarm passes the filter. These filters are
evaluated ONLY for alarms.
So, you need to create an alarm from your event (modifying EventDisp
files or with Tools -> Utilities -> Event Configuration utility).
Then you can optionally use SANM if you want to filter when the script
should be run or modify SetScript to filter what you want.
In the past, there used to be a script (EventNotifier) that did what
you want to do, but it was removed several version ago (I think due to
performance issues).

Hi Ali,
I was pretty sure it works only for alarms and not for events.
Now I am not so sure because I had a look at the number of
Alarms displayed by SANM Policy editor and I had another look at the number of
events listed by Event Configuration. To my surprise I found the number to be
pretty close. That made me think that SANM could work with Events too.
Just create the policy and search for the event you want in
“Alarm List” there is a very high chance that your event will be there. If you
find it in the list – bingo! J

This solution is for Alarms only, right? not for Events.
Thanks / Cheers, Ali

Hi Diego,
As far as I know it is not possible for an event/alarm
to trigger a script execution directly.
But, there is a solution. The solution involves
Spectrum Alarm Notifier.
You can create a policy (the filtering options are very
good so you can make it as exact as you want) and when the conditions are met,
SANM will take over via SetScript, ClearScript and UpdateScript. The default
action for these scripts is to send an email but you can replace the “mail”
part with your app.
Read the manual, because the procedure is explained in
detail, and be prepared for trial-and-error. You will get it working in the end.
