Hi René, today there are 3 possible areas which can result in a memory leak.
Corba Interface: (our) Symptoms: Sporadic loose of connection, small memory leak Solution: 9.2.1 include most of the fixes, but a better solution will come with H06 please open a ticket for this Spectroserver itself: Symptoms: small memory grow per day, memory grow with scheduled maintenance modes. Solution: most of memory grows are fixed in 9.2.1, for maintenance mode problems please open a ticket SDC – SDM Communication: Symptoms: depending on the mass of data and the numbers of SDC´s there can be crashes on startup (2gb memory consumption in 45 sec…) medium Memory grow per day, SDC crashes, loose of polling information’s. Staring with H02 communication problems when enable compress Solution: many of the problems are fixed with 9.2.1. For the core problem it looks like that it is fixed. we test an fix and it seemed that it is fixed. Please open an ticket for this. The symptoms are depending on the environment and the polled objects. We are in a “lucky” position that we had all of these issues….. . Spectrum 9.2.1 is actual in our lab installed for testing propose. For our problems we run today in an H03 environment with an special jumbo fix which include fixes for the problems above. Most of them are include in 9.2.1. Have you been able to gather any additional details? These are all the SpectroSERVER memory issues fixed in 9.2.1. In addition there is a search caching functionality has been adjusted so that caching is not happening every 10 minutes. Your memory problem could be a combination of any of these scenarios or triggered by just one. Could any of these apply to your scenario Mark? Symptom: SpectroSERVER is leaking memory when 'WriteAttribute' or 'WriteAttributeInstance' event procedures are used. The SpectroServer was shut down cleanly, but it would not restart properly; it would crash in the manner you describe during SSDB model loading. We reverted to a Thursday backup of our SSDB (the Friday backup had the same problem) and are still investigating. At this time, we are uncertain if some landscape changes added on Friday contributed to this problem or not. We have downloaded 9.2.1, but we have not evaluated it yet.
