Hi Jason,

What you normally do is:
1) take 2 or 3 cubes
2) have someone scramble them before you start
3) start the time and start solving
4) while solving cubes, the scrambler scrambles the solved cubes
5) stop the time when 42 are solved.

We normally do not use official scrambles for these unofficial records.
42 is the number of kilometers for a marathon.

The current unofficial record is held by Lars Vandenbergh:

Have fun,

Ron

What are the rules for the 42 cube Marathon? Do you just add up solve
times for 42 consecutive cubes? Do you preinspect?

Someone in the WC1982 mov said something about a 42 cube marathon in
15 minutes. Thats 21.43sec/cube. Where did this category come from?
And did 42 come from Douglas Adams' book?

  Jason
