Thats a different relationship..NASCAR racing/Speed cubing. I only say that because NASCAR racers have to worry about life/death cases durring crashes. Cubers have to worry about a bad average. Anyways,
I know a lot of times that if I speed through stuff with no conciquences, I tend to do better. (another bad relationship) In video games, if I am fighting the final boss with out much energy left, I tend to be much more careful and be sure not to get hurt. If i have full or extended energy I will just battle and not worry at all about being hurt. Cubing is the same way. If there was a no pop rule, I would go slower and be sure not to pop(low energy). But if pops were allowed like they are now and i poped, after that point i would work harder not pop(if I start to get low on energy). If I don't pop, I will feel free and will not have anything to worry about. I will not have popping on my mind and I will do better(full or extended energy). I'm not sure if my point is clear enough (and the relationship is probably pretty bad). I just think not allowing pops is a bad idea. Again, just my opinion. :) This may or may not apply to you.
