Hi :-)

I'm no expert on megaminx, but it sounds to me like u got a bad 
specimen with some production error. Something like badly molded parts 
or an axis is not straight. But i'm really only guessing :-o Lubing 
and loosening the screws should have worked. Have u tried, btw, to see 
if there are molding imperfections that u can remove from any of the 
parts? If there is, use a sharp knife or sanding paper to remove it :-)
