The problem does not come from the speedtouch project.
The problem is that sometimes, my provider (in France, France Telecom)
disconnects my line.
The only way to cope with this problem is to reset the USB port, as far as I
know. (Maybe there are other ways that I don't know)
Under windows, their seems to be a way to reset specifically the concerned USB
port.
Under linux, you can unload the module in charge of managing your USB modem.
Under BSD, there is no way to play with the loading and unloading of the
modules, as there is no module (well, in fact, there are, but less easily
unloadable).

So when my ISP cuts my line under OpenBSD, my only solution would be to
physically unplug the modem, then plug it again. I did it, it's working.
The other solution would be to reboot... :o(

So now, what's in the air is that someone is planning to include the module
management directly inside the kernel of FreeBSD 5.? that would perhaps improve
this load/unload process.

Until then, I don't advice you to use the speedtouch modem under any BSD.
