In the how-to for slackware says that i mv whole > /etc/ppp to /etc/ppp.orig , don't i need the other files inside? That only means your pppoatm is built in kernel, and not as a module. I have the same message, and my connection is finally correct. But I'm interested in a solution for not having this message. Stop all the other services, and especially the network service, to explore your problem, and send /var/log/* issues to help the list find out what your problem is. \bye PS : the LFS page is great, I personnaly have a LFS 6.0 in progress, and the hint went fine for me. I just had a problem with a default gateway which prevented me from reaching the Internet. I'll investigate this to enhance the BLFS book and the hint. -- Nicolas FRANCOIS http://nicolas.francois.free.fr We are the Micro$oft. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
