i tried many distros, and all of them are really really low, mainly at
startup.... none of them went below the 2,45 min without starting the
xsession.... and for a notebook is really really really bad!!!! i need a
notebook that boots quickly.... i don't like windows, because i have to use
some new programs, and i have to use xp or w2k, wich are really unstable....
my only way to revive that notebook is a gentoo version very very clean,
starting from stage 1 and with only the things i really need.... if doesn't
work i'll have to buy a new notebook.... i'll try, and if not working i'll
download manually the files i need for the installation.... i know that the
compilation should take about half a week for the base system.... if that
boots quickly i'll compile the other parts.... i hope i'll work.... i'll let
you know how it works....
