I've been using this modem for quite a while without a single problem, but
now.... my provider has recently upgraded downstream from 3Mb to 6Mb and I
noticed some random delays with ping:

64 bytes from pop.wxs.nl (195.121.6.53): icmp_seq=63 ttl=252 time=6.50 ms
64 bytes from pop.wxs.nl (195.121.6.53): icmp_seq=64 ttl=252 time=7.28 ms
64 bytes from pop.wxs.nl (195.121.6.53): icmp_seq=65 ttl=252 time=9.06 ms
64 bytes from pop.wxs.nl (195.121.6.53): icmp_seq=66 ttl=252 time=1031 ms
64 bytes from pop.wxs.nl (195.121.6.53): icmp_seq=67 ttl=252 time=32.6 ms
64 bytes from pop.wxs.nl (195.121.6.53): icmp_seq=68 ttl=252 time=7.39 ms
64 bytes from pop.wxs.nl (195.121.6.53): icmp_seq=69 ttl=252 time=7.13 ms

So, once per 10-80 packets I'm getting realy long (~1000ms) delay just for a
_SINGLE_ packet, then everything is fine again and responce time stays in
between 7-11ms. This was never happening before upgrade. Do you have any clue
what could be wrong there? There's no relevant messages logged by kernel or
something else.
Just for the info: I tried another modem (ethernet), just to be sure that it
isn't provider's problem and the ping is fine. I'm using 2.6.14 kernel, but
with 2.6.13 I can see exactly the same behaviour.
BTW, I'm monitoring average ping times by mrtg, so there is a graph at
http://bsd.net.home/stats/ping/ping.html, so you can clearly see how it was
before (15-11-05 18:00) and after.

Regards,
Vladimir.
