i had a connection timeout problem on FC5. It would work randomly for differing amounts of time, but nearly always balk when i tried yum or add/remove software to update/install the system. I did have a worn out BIOS CR2032 battery in the machine for a long time and since installing FC5, which I have now renewed I dont know if that would affect it in anyway, but I am seeing how it goes for the moment. It seems ok for now. If you have the same you could try changing that?
