I wonder if anyone can shed any light on my problem?
I can't get a connection on booting Fedora core 5 using the silver modem.
Reading /var/log/messages seems to show things going well:

I also get this on trying to start the connection manually with pppd call
speedtch
I've also tried Steve Parker's script that worked for me on Mandrake 10.0.
I'd be grateful for any help
