I have reinstalled Fedora.
I have reinstalled the firmware, the modem is recognized, even by kppp, but I
can't reach a connection.
So, I've tried with pppd, but I think the problem is in the files to configure
the connection. Following the pppd "setup" file, I've created a file in
/etc/ppp/chat-isp like this:

ABORT "NO CARIER"
ABORT "NO DIALTONE"
ABORT "ERROR"
ABORT "NO ANSWER"
ABORT "BUSY"
ABORT "Username/Password Incorrect"
"" "at"
OK "at&d2&c1"
OK "atdt2479381"
"name:" "^Uusername"
world:" "\qpassword"
"alice" "ppp"
"Switching to PPP-ppp-Switching to PPP"

And the file /etc/ppp/peers/speedtouch:

ttyS0 #modem
921600 #run the serial port at 921600 baud
crtscts #use hardware flow control
noauth #don't require the ISP to authenticate itself
defaultroute #use the ISP as our default route
connect '/usr/sbin/chat -v -f /etc/ppp/chat-isp

Typing "sudo call speedtouch" it seems not to work, it comes to a new line as
it has finished.

I don't know if these parameters are suitable to my provider (pppoA), but I
hope so!

Thanks!

Ilaria

Did you put your username in your etc/peers/speedtch file ?
