Hi all, I have been struggling for a while now to get my PPPoE connection with Orange in the Netherlands running under Slackware 10.0 with the 2.6.24 kernel and the Speedtouch 330 modem (the grey one). I couldn't figure it out and compiled the 2.6.11.9 kernel so I could use the website: http://www.linux-usb.org/SpeedTouch/LFS/index.html to establish the connection. Of course it is not working yet, otherwise I wouldn't write to the mailing list. At boot the firmware is detected by the modem, but I get this suspicious message: /etc/hotplug/usb/speedtouch: line 14: /var/run/usb/%proc%bus%usb%003%003: No such file or directory When I try to run the dial script I get the well known message: Timeout waiting for PADO packets. Anyone suggestions about what might be going wrong? Michiel. --------------------------------- Cheap Talk? Check out Yahoo! Messenger's low PC-to-Phone call rates.
