The link you reference is showing the text to put in the file, after the "vi ...." command (that's not for your bash command line!) Empty docs are not very interesting - better to put _some_ text in one or two documents first, then look at the Sphinx documents - pay attention to the "show source" link -- that's the source for "This Page" > This sure looks like a very capable and > easy to use documentation system once I understand the basics.
