John, A couple of guys mentioned opening the knuckle up a bit to help it slip on more easily. Is it possible that it has been opened TOO much, so the holes for the bolt are no longer properly aligned, and the bolt can't pass through the second hole?
Also it is essential that the bolt hole is exactly lined up with the groove - if it is a bit off the bolt may get past the groove, but the groove will push the bolt slightly off-line so it won't go into the hole opposite. Try turning the steering so you can see clearly through the hole and past the groove (probably need a small torch) so you can make sure the groove is lined up right before you start pushing the bolt through. Yes, I know what you mean about access - for a car that usually gives you so much space to work it is a damned awkward area to be fiddling in! Hope you get it sorted, Richard ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Important Notice: The information in this email is confidential and may be legally-privileged.
