Then I use a tool that I fabricated to get the rubber over the pieces. The tool is a small spoon sort of affair that is made from a long thin screwdriver. The edges are thin but rounded to lift the rubber lip over the piece it is to cover.
It makes installing the lenses and rings much easier.
