Acc. to Rimmerbros there seems to be a solid coupling, but also a
flexible joint higher up.

Would the only downside of fitting a solid coupling be more vibration?
Would it be much more as in giving nerve-damage or just a better
massage?

I'm just adding my questions with more questions.

If I recall correctly, a TR6 uses a solid metal coupling that gives no
slop, as a flexible joint does.  The downfall is more road vibration,
but a better firmer turn.
