One of your best resources is the spynumbers database at http://www.spynumbers.com. You can sort them by day of the week, then time, then frequency (just my own preference). Many of the numbers stations repeat transmissions on a weekly basis on the same frequency at the same time. Here in Illinois I can usually copy at least some transmissions of E10 (Mossad), E03 (Lincolnshire Poacher), E04 (Cherry Ripe), V02/M08 (Cuba - usually very loud here), XSL (slot machine) and a few others. There is a cluster of little CW beacons in the southwest USA desert centered around 4096 kHz. I'm curious how they sound in California. I can often hear them at night here but they pop in and out of the noise.
